About SV8 files
The .sv8 file format is a proprietary game save file created by BigJig, a desktop jigsaw puzzle simulator developed by Lena Games. It acts as a digital snapshot of a user's puzzle progress, storing precise data such as the coordinates, rotation, and grouping of every puzzle piece on the virtual board.
This format is exclusively managed by BigJig and is heavily tied to the software's internal engine. Users frequently attempt to convert .sv8 files hoping to extract the completed puzzle as a standard JPG or PNG image. However, game saves are not image files. Instead of storing the actual picture, the .sv8 file contains a mathematical matrix and a reference link to the original image stored elsewhere on your hard drive. Because this is a closed, proprietary data format, standard online converters will completely fail to process or read it. Our tool will identify the format, inspect the underlying hex code, and extract any readable plain text or embedded metadata. If our analysis detects supported embedded assets, viewing may still be possible - otherwise, your most pragmatic workaround is to load the file back into BigJig and capture a manual screenshot.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SV8 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted SV7, SV2 and SV3 files.
