About SSND files

The .ssnd file format is a proprietary Synclavier Sound File created by Synclavier Digital. It stores audio samples and synthesizer patch data originally designed for the legendary New England Digital Synclavier hardware. Today, it is used by modern software emulations like the Arturia Synclavier V. The .ssnd format is closed and proprietary, which creates significant disadvantages for users. You cannot open it natively in standard web browsers, media players, or mainstream Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Ableton Live or Logic Pro. Users are forced to rely on specific, often expensive, synthesizer software to access the audio. To use these sounds in modern production, you must convert the .ssnd file to a standard, uncompressed audio format like WAV or AIF. Because this is a highly specialized format, standard online converters fail to process it. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the audio data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded PCM audio format inside the file, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your SSND file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
