About SPUB files

.SPUB files are proprietary page layout documents created by Swift Publisher or the legacy Disc Cover software, both built by BeLight Software. These files store designs for flyers, brochures, newsletters, and disc labels. They contain text layers, vector graphics, raster images, and formatting metadata.

The main disadvantage of the .SPUB format is its strict vendor lock-in. It is a closed, proprietary file type. It only works on Apple macOS computers. Windows users cannot open or view these files natively. You cannot view them in a standard web browser. Editing the file requires purchasing the native Mac software.

To share these designs, users must convert them. The most practical conversion target is PDF, which preserves the exact layout and typography for printing or viewing on any device. For quick web previews, converting to JPG or PNG is recommended.

This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert outside of its native ecosystem. Standard online converters fail to process it because the internal structure is proprietary and undocumented. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your SPUB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
