Convert SDTID to another file type
To convert SDTID tokens to another format, you need RSA SecurID Software Token or other Encoded software.
Convert a file to SDTID
To convert other file formats to the "Security Token ID File" file type, you need software like RSA SecurID Software Token or a similar tool.
About SDTID files
The .sdtid file is a security token ID file developed by RSA Security LLC for the RSA SecurID authentication system. Organizations use these files to distribute cryptographic seeds to employees, allowing their devices to generate time-based two-factor authentication (2FA) codes. Under the hood, an .sdtid file is formatted as an XML document that contains metadata, token serial numbers, and a heavily encrypted seed payload.
The major disadvantage of the .sdtid format is its proprietary and closed ecosystem. Users often want to extract the 2FA seed to use in open-standard authenticator apps like Google Authenticator or Authy. However, standard online converters fail to process it because the payload is cryptographically secured and bound to specific hardware IDs. It requires the official RSA SecurID Software Token app and a unique import password provided by an IT administrator to function.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format, converting it into a standard 2FA QR code or raw text seed is extremely difficult. While we cannot decrypt the core token seed, our tools can extract readable metadata like expiration dates, serial numbers, and deployment settings to help you troubleshoot import errors.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SDTID file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert SDTID file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use RSA SecurID Software Token or similar software from the "Software Token Deployment" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to SDTID, try RSA SecurID Software Token or another comparable tool in the "Software Token Deployment" category.
The SDTID Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SDTID converter.
