About SAW files

The .saw file extension is primarily associated with Homag Group's manufacturing ecosystem, specifically the CADmatic saw control software. These files function as panel saw cutting plans, containing complex geometric data, material grain directions, and nesting layouts used by industrial beam saws to optimize wood cutting.

The Problem: .saw files are highly proprietary and machine-specific. They are not standard CAD files (like DXF) and cannot be opened in AutoCAD, Excel, or generic viewers. Engineers and operators often struggle when they need to view a cutting plan off-site or share data with clients who don't possess the expensive manufacturing software. Additionally, older legacy files from AliceSoft games or Masada Acropole property management software use the same extension, creating confusion.

The Solution:

Convert.Guru analyzes your SAW file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
