Extract text from RPG Maker VX projects (RVPROJ)

The .RVPROJ file is a proprietary project configuration file created by RPG Maker VX, a 2D game development engine developed by Enterbrain. It acts as the master file for a game currently in development. It does not store media itself; instead, it holds project settings and links to external assets like character sprites, map tilesets, audio files, and RGSS2 (Ruby) scripts stored in the surrounding project directory.
The biggest disadvantage of the .RVPROJ format is its strictly proprietary nature. It is heavily locked into the RPG Maker ecosystem. You cannot open it with a standard text editor to make meaningful changes, and it requires a paid license of RPG Maker VX to open, edit, or compile. Furthermore, gamers frequently download source project folders by mistake and attempt to run the .RVPROJ file directly. This is impossible, as the file is not an executable game.
Converting an .RVPROJ file is a complex process. You cannot convert it directly into a standard media file. To distribute your game, you must use the engine to compile the project into a standalone EXE file. If you are upgrading your engine, developers usually migrate data manually to RVPROJ2 files to work with the newer RPG Maker VX Ace.
Because this is a closed, proprietary database pointer file, standard online converters fail to process it. Only the original software can properly read or export the complex map and script data.
