About RHR files
The .RHR file format is a proprietary script storage format created by Engram for their Script Rehearser application. Actors, public speakers, and voiceover artists use these files to import scripts, assign characters, and practice dialogue scenes using text-to-speech technologies.
The primary disadvantage of a .RHR file is its closed, app-specific ecosystem. You cannot natively open it in standard word processors like Microsoft Word or share it easily with cast members who do not use the app. The format traps your script data inside a mobile-first environment, making desktop editing or printing extremely difficult.
Users typically need to convert .RHR files to standard readable formats like PDF, TXT, or DOCX to print physical copies or share the script universally. Exporting to dedicated screenwriting formats like Final Draft (FDX) is also highly requested. Note that when converting out of the .RHR environment, you will lose the interactive text-to-speech timings and character audio assignments.
Because .RHR is a highly specialized, closed format, standard online document converters fail to process it. Usually, only the original Script Rehearser app can properly read or export the structured data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying text structure or embedded string data, viewing the dialogue or partial conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RHR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The RHR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RHR converter.
