About RGP files

The .rgp extension covers two distinct categories of files that users often struggle to open. The most common is a Geotechnical Measurement Data file generated by industrial hardware from Screening Eagle (formerly Proceq) or Pile Dynamics, Inc. These files contain raw sensor logs from Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) or pile driving resistance drills. They are proprietary, binary or JSON-structured containers that cannot be opened in standard spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel. Users typically encounter these files when trying to share field data with clients who lack the specific expensive analysis software (e.g., Proceq GPR Live or PD-Win).

The second common type is a Route Generator Project file. Users of the Route Generator software save their work as .rgp, mistakenly believing it is a playable video file. In reality, this file only contains coordinates and settings (XML/text data). Sending an .rgp file to a friend will result in an error; the recipient cannot view the animation without the original map images and the software installed. To share the animation, the author must "generate" the output as an AVI or MP4 video.

Convert.Guru analyzes your RGP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted FMF, PTM and KDT files.
