About RFQ files

The .rfq extension is shared by two entirely different software ecosystems. It is used as a RoboForm SearchCard file created by Siber Systems' RoboForm password manager, or as a FastCAM Steel Quote Request file used in CNC metal fabrication by FastCAM.

In RoboForm, the .rfq file stores specific search parameters to help users rapidly query websites. In FastCAM, it acts as a digital bridge between CAD/CAM drawings and procurement, containing structured data for heavy industrial steel pricing.

Both formats suffer from severe real-world limitations. They are highly proprietary, closed formats. You cannot open them natively in web browsers, and reading them in standard text editors often displays garbled data. Extracting pricing information from FastCAM or search data from RoboForm without a paid subscription or installed desktop software is incredibly frustrating. Users frequently need to convert these to CSV, TXT, or PDF to share business quotes or migrate password manager data.

Because these are undocumented and locked formats, standard online converters fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data.
