About RF1 files

The .rf1 file is primarily a Retirement Forecast File created by the Denali Documents software, a niche desktop application built specifically for Alaska Airlines pilots. Historically, the .rf1 extension also denotes the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Reach File 1, a legacy GIS vector dataset used to map riverbed networks at a 1:500,000 scale. When used for financial planning, these files store highly specific actuarial data, including seat positions, upgrade estimates, and plan A/B pension contributions. The severe disadvantage of the .rf1 format is its hostile, closed-ecosystem design. The software is strictly proprietary and is hardcoded to stop functioning annually. This forces users to pay for yearly actuarial updates just to access their own saved data files. To escape this vendor lock-in, the best conversion targets are universal formats like CSV or TXT to salvage the raw input variables, or PDF to preserve the final projection charts. Standard online converters fail to process the .rf1 file because the proprietary serialization is undocumented. Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our deep inspection tool will analyze the underlying binary or text structure, allowing you to view embedded content even if your software license has expired. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your RF1 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
