About R64 files
A .r64 file is most often a raw camera recording or configuration file associated with BitFlow frame grabbers, specifically the legacy R64 series (e.g., R64-PCI, R64-CL). In an industrial context, these files store uncompressed, high-speed image data captured from machine vision cameras, or define the technical parameters (taps, bit depth, resolution) required to interpret that data. Because the format is essentially a direct memory dump or a proprietary configuration blob, standard image viewers like Windows Photos or Preview cannot open them. Users typically need to convert these files to standardized formats like TIFF for scientific analysis or PNG for easy viewing.
Note: A .r64 file may also be "Part 65" of a multi-volume WinRAR archive (e.g., archive.r64), or occasionally a mislabeled Nintendo 64 ROM file (typically n64 or z64).
Convert.Guru analyzes your R64 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted RSAKEY, TSIG and SEML files.

The R64 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our R64 converter.
