About PRO4DVD files

The .PRO4DVD file stores start and end timecodes for video clips referencing a physical DVD. It is primarily used in live presentation environments like churches and broadcast events. The file is opened and managed exclusively using ProPresenter. Users often attempt to convert this file expecting it to be a playable video. However, the major disadvantage of a .PRO4DVD file is that it contains zero video or audio data. It is highly proprietary, requires an expensive software license to execute, and fails completely if the original physical DVD is not mounted in the exact same drive path. Because it is just a pointer file, you cannot directly convert a .PRO4DVD to standard video formats like MP4 or MOV. Standard online converters fail to process it because they search for a media stream that does not exist. If you need the video, you must extract it from the source DVD.
