About PIXELA files
A .PIXELA file is a proprietary project file created by Pixela, a specialized drawing tool developed by 2DD Entertainment for designing pixel art sprites. These files store multiple layers of images drawn on specific grids (often 36x36), allowing artists to organize frames, colors, and transparency settings without losing quality. They are primarily used by indie game developers and digital artists to create animated characters, tilesets, and UI elements.
Despite being a lossless format, the major disadvantage of a .PIXELA file is its strict proprietary nature. It is not supported by standard image viewers, web browsers, or mainstream design software like Adobe Photoshop. Sharing these raw project files with clients or importing them directly into game engines like Unity or Godot is impossible without first exporting the layers.
To make your artwork usable, you must convert the file into standard formats like PNG (ideal for preserving transparency in sprite sheets), GIF, or JPG. Because it is a closed project format, standard online converters usually fail to process the proprietary multi-layer structure. If our analysis detects embedded lossless image chunks, viewing or conversion to common image formats may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PIXELA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
