About PGB files
A .pgb file is technically a Page Buffer file, a specialized raster format used in commercial printing workflows by Creo and Kodak systems (such as the legacy Brisque or modern Prinergy).
Unlike a standard JPG or PNG, this file represents a "digital plate" - it contains the raw, high-resolution (often 2400+ DPI) dot data generated by a Raster Image Processor (RIP) immediately before physical printing.
The Problem: Because these files are designed for industrial plate-setters, they are notoriously difficult to access. They often use proprietary CMYK or spot color encodings that standard image viewers and even Adobe Photoshop cannot decode natively. They are heavy, uncompressed, and useless outside of a prepress environment.
The Solution: To view the content without expensive workflow software, you must convert the file. For high-fidelity archiving, convert to TIFF (which supports CMYK). For quick viewing or emailing, convert to PDF or PNG.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PGB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The PGB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PGB converter.
