The .OLP file format is an archive package originally created by the now-discontinued Microsoft Office Live service. These files were heavily used between 2006 and 2012 to bundle website templates, HTML web pages, images, and shared workspace documents into a single downloadable package for easy transfer and backup.
Because Office Live Workspace was completely replaced by OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) and Office 365, no modern Microsoft software natively recognizes or opens these packages anymore. The core problem with .OLP files today is that they are entirely obsolete. Users who discover old .olp backups usually cannot open them because modern operating systems lack the necessary registry keys, making the stored historical documents seemingly inaccessible.
Fortunately, because these files are often standard compressed archives under the hood, the best conversion target is extracting the contents to ZIP. From there, you can retrieve the individual standard formats like HTML, DOCX, and JPG stored inside. Attempting to convert the entire package directly to a single document will fail.
