Extract text from Navicat data models (NDM)

The .NDM file is primarily a Navicat Database Model Diagram. These files are used by database administrators and developers to visually map out database tables, relationships, and architectures before implementing them in engines like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server. Additionally, .NDM is used for air conditioner database backups by Nidec True Manager Air and as an IC design library database by Synopsys IC Compiler II.
To properly open or edit the main database model variant, you must use Navicat Data Modeler or Navicat Premium.
The primary disadvantage of the .NDM format is that it is strictly proprietary. You cannot view the ER (Entity-Relationship) diagram in web browsers, standard text editors, or free database tools. Collaborating with non-developers often requires purchasing an expensive software subscription just to view the schema layout.
To make the data accessible, the best conversion targets are PDF, PNG, or SVG for sharing the visual diagram, or SQL to extract the Data Definition Language (DDL) for actual database creation. Converting to an image means you will lose the interactive ability to edit table structures.
This file format is difficult to open or convert online because standard converters cannot interpret Navicat's proprietary structural mapping.
