The .MSB file extension primarily denotes a MobileSheets Application Backup created by Zubersoft MobileSheets, an app used by musicians to manage digital sheet music. Alternatively, .MSB files act as compiled Game Engine Binary Assets utilized by the Lab Zero Games engine or the Gamebryo Engine. In rare enterprise environments, they are generated as Oracle Binary Message Files for Oracle database communications.
The primary disadvantage of the .MSB format is its highly proprietary, closed-box design. A MobileSheets backup securely locks your sheet music, setlists, and metadata inside an unreadable archive, forcing reliance on a $15 app to view your own documents. Game engine .MSB files are equally restrictive, consisting of compiled, undocumented binary data that cannot be imported into standard 3D software or image editors.
