The .MPW file is primarily a Midas Project File used by structural engineering software developed by Midas IT. Behind the scenes, these files are structured as an SQLite database. Secondary uses for the .MPW extension include MadTracker Packed Instrument files for audio production and legacy Microsoft Project Workspace files.
Opening an .MPW file natively requires the original software, such as the Midas engineering suite, MadTracker, or Microsoft Project.
Sharing these files is a major headache. The formats are highly proprietary. Midas software requires a costly commercial license to access the project data. MadTracker files rely on outdated audio tracking environments. Neither format can be opened by web browsers or standard office applications.
