About MK4 files

The .mk4 file is a Schiller medilog ECG Raw Data file. It contains continuous, multi-channel electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings captured by ambulatory Holter monitors. Medical professionals use these files within Schiller medilog DARWIN2 software to analyze heart rhythms over periods ranging from 24 hours to 7 days.

The format is highly proprietary and closed-source. It requires expensive clinical software to open. Files are large and often contain sensitive Patient Health Information (PHI), making them difficult to share or integrate with standard research tools. Standard web browsers and media players cannot read this raw physiological signal data.

Researchers and clinicians usually need to convert .mk4 data into EDF (European Data Format) for universal physiological analysis, CSV for raw data processing, or PDF for static clinical reports.

Because .mk4 uses undocumented encoding to compress raw ECG signals, standard online converters fail to process it. Usually, only the original Schiller software can accurately decode the amplitude and time-series data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MK4 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MKV, MP4 and MP3 files.
