About MFO files

The .MFO file extension primarily functions as a proprietary Form and label project file. These files are typically generated by specialized label design software, notably Memsoft Memori-Form and Neato MediaFace Online. They are occasionally associated with Microsoft InfoPath as 'Make It Pro Label' files. An .MFO file acts as a structural blueprint. It stores layout coordinates, text field definitions, barcode settings, and paths to external graphic assets used for printing physical labels (like CD/DVD covers, mailing addresses, or product tags).

Because .MFO is a closed, proprietary project format, it presents significant disadvantages. These files are completely dependent on the original software to render correctly. They do not store the final, flattened graphic, but rather the isolated instructions required to build it. Consequently, you cannot open an .MFO file natively in web browsers, standard document viewers, or graphics software like Adobe Illustrator. Furthermore, software like Neato MediaFace is largely obsolete, often leaving users locked out of their legacy label designs.

Standard online image converters routinely fail to process .MFO files. Recreating the proprietary layout engine of a niche legacy program is impossible without the original software architecture. The most reliable way to convert an .MFO file is to open it in its native application and use the 'Print to PDF' function. This bakes the dynamic layout into a static, universally readable PDF document.

If the original software is lost, this file format is exceptionally difficult to open. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, we can extract plain text, XML data, or internal image links to help you recover your lost label data.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MFO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MFT and ICQ files.
