About MANI files

The .mani file is a proprietary project file created by Mine-imator, a 3D animation studio built specifically for creating Minecraft videos. It saves the entire state of an animation project, including timelines, keyframes, camera angles, lighting configurations, and file paths to external assets like character skins, map schematics, and audio tracks. You can open and edit these files exclusively using Mine-imator, originally developed by David Norgren. The main disadvantage of the .mani format is that it is a closed, proprietary project file. It is completely useless outside of the Mine-imator ecosystem. It is not an actual video or a universal 3D model. Users often try to upload .mani files to video players, YouTube, or web browsers, only to find they cannot be opened. The format also does not embed heavy assets, meaning if you move a .mani file without its associated resource folder, the project will break and show missing textures. Users typically want to convert .mani to MP4 or AVI to share their animations online. However, standard online converters fail to process it because the file is merely a data file containing rendering instructions, not actual pixel data. To get a video, you must use the "Export as Movie" function inside the native software. This file format is difficult to open or convert via third-party tools because only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our analysis detects the underlying structure, allowing you to inspect the raw text contents and extract embedded data if available.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MANI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
