The .LOO file format primarily stores a Conceptual Data Model (MCD) diagram. It is used by Looping MCD software to map out database relationships and structures before creating the actual database. Less commonly, .LOO files function as localization string data files for video games like Divinity: Original Sin 2 (via LocDirect), or as broadcast graphics project files for Loopic.io.
Opening or sharing a .LOO file can be frustrating. The Looping MCD format is highly proprietary. Standard web browsers and image viewers cannot display the database diagrams inside. If you send a .LOO file to a client or team member, they will be unable to open it without installing the specific desktop application.
To make the data usable, you must convert it. Database diagrams should ideally be exported to PDF or PNG for easy viewing, or translated into SQL scripts to build the database. Video game localization files and Loopic project files (which use JSON) are best viewed in standard code editors or their respective native software.
Because these are specialized, closed formats, generic online converters usually fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data.
