A .KWM file is a proprietary Key File used by the online payment system WebMoney. It stores encrypted private keys required for user authentication and secure transaction signing within the WebMoney Keeper WinPro desktop application.
Users typically handle .KWM files when creating account backups or migrating their digital wallet to a new computer. The main disadvantage of this format is its locked-in, proprietary nature. It is heavily encrypted and entirely unreadable outside of the official client. It is also useless without the matching 12-digit WebMoney ID (WMID) and password. Because it contains sensitive financial credentials, handling it can be risky, and losing it requires a lengthy official recovery process.
Converting a .KWM file to standard document formats like PDF or TXT is not recommended and generally impossible, as it destroys the binary cryptographic data. If you need to secure or transfer the key, the best target format is an encrypted ZIP or 7Z archive to prevent unauthorized access.
This file format is difficult to open or convert because it is a closed, encrypted binary file. Standard online converters fail because they expect media or document streams, not cryptographic keys.
