About KTN files

A .KTN file is a 2D animation project file created by KTooN, an open-source animation toolkit that later evolved into TupiTube. This file stores timeline data, vector graphics coordinates, layer properties, and references to external assets like audio or raster images. Users typically open and edit these files using the original KTooN or TupiTube desktop applications. The main disadvantage of the .KTN format is that it is a proprietary working file, not a playable media file. It does not contain actual video frames. You cannot play a .KTN file in standard media players or web browsers, and the project will break if the linked external image or audio assets are moved or deleted. To share your animation, you must render the project into standard video formats like MP4, AVI, or WEBM. Because .KTN is a proprietary project format, standard online video converters fail to process it. They lack the specific rendering engine required to calculate the vector math and timeline instructions. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extracting specific asset data may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your KTN file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
