About J2C files

A .J2C file contains a raw JPEG 2000 image codestream. Unlike the more common .JP2 format, which wraps the image data in a container with color space and resolution metadata, .J2C files hold only the compressed pixel data itself. Users frequently struggle with .J2C files because they lack universal support. Modern web browsers do not natively display them. Because they lack the standard JP2 metadata wrapper, basic image viewers often fail to interpret the color space or dimensions correctly, resulting in read errors or distorted colors.
