About ITMS files

The .ITMS file is an iTunes Music Store Link File. It contains a proprietary URL schema designed to launch Apple's software directly to a specific song, album, movie, or podcast. Historically opened by iTunes, modern systems process these links using Apple Music. The biggest disadvantage is that an .ITMS file is not an audio file. Users often mistakenly believe they have downloaded an MP3 or M4A, but the .ITMS file is just a tiny text-based pointer. It requires Apple's closed ecosystem to function normally and is practically useless on devices without Apple software installed. You cannot convert an .ITMS file to an audio file because it contains zero audio data. However, you can convert it to TXT or HTML to extract the underlying web link and open the store page in a standard web browser like Google Chrome. Because this is a specialized shortcut file, standard media converters will fail.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ITMS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
