The .HE2 file is a proprietary Humongous Entertainment Game Archive. It stores compiled audio, graphics, scripts, and room data for classic 1990s point-and-click adventure games running on a modified SCUMM engine (such as Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, and Freddi Fish).
These files are natively accessed by original game executables or by modern interpreter engines like ScummVM. The format acts as a specialized container, designed specifically to stream game data efficiently on older hardware.
