Convert a file to GA
To convert other file formats to the "Image Render Parameters" file type, you need software like Softology Genetic Art or a similar tool.
About GA files
The .GA file extension stores Genetic Art Image Parameters used by the Softology Genetic Art application. It contains the mathematical formulas, color palettes, and evolutionary seeds required to render algorithmic abstract artwork.
Users typically need to convert these files to share their creations online. However, the .GA file is not an actual image file - it is essentially a rendering recipe. Because it lacks standard pixel data, web browsers, mobile phones, and mainstream graphic editors like Adobe Photoshop cannot open it.
If you want to share the visual artwork, the best target formats are raster images like PNG, JPG, or BMP. Unfortunately, standard online image converters will fail to process a .GA file because they do not contain the proprietary Softology rendering engine required to calculate the math. You typically must open the file in the original software to export the image.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format, direct format-to-format conversion is difficult. Only the original software can properly read or export the algorithmic data into an actual picture. We will inspect the file and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
FAQ
If you want to convert GA file to INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use Softology Genetic Art or similar software from the "Algorithmic Image Parameter Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to GA, try Softology Genetic Art or another comparable tool in the "Algorithmic Image Parameter Storage" category.
The GA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GA converter.
