Convert FUL to another file type
To convert FUL backups to another format, you need Hewlett-Packard (HP) or other Backup software.
Convert a file to FUL
To convert other file formats to the "Firmware & Database Backup" file type, you need software like Hewlett-Packard (HP) or a similar tool.
About FUL files
A .FUL file is typically an HP Printer Firmware Update file or a Microsoft SQL Server Full Backup file. It is also occasionally used as an Industrial Controller Program Module by B&R Automation Studio or a mobile phone flash backup created by Octoplus Box software. These files contain highly compressed, proprietary binary data or complete database snapshots meant for machine execution or disaster recovery.
These files are strictly system-level components. To handle them, you must use the native software like Microsoft SQL Server for database restores, or official HP firmware update utilities. Because they are proprietary, you cannot open them with standard text editors or web browsers. A major disadvantage of .FUL files is that they are deeply tied to specific hardware or software versions. For example, if you try to restore a SQL Server .FUL backup on an older version of SQL Server, the operation will fail.
Standard online converters fail to process .FUL files because they are not documents, images, or standard media. They are closed, proprietary backup formats. Converting a .FUL file to PDF or DOCX is completely impossible and serves no practical purpose. If you need the data inside a SQL backup, you must restore it to a live database and then export the tables to CSV or XLSX.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert directly. Only the original software can properly read, validate, or export the data. Even if direct conversion is impossible, our tool can inspect the file, show raw text or hex data, and check if an extractable archive format is embedded inside.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FUL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert FUL file to BAK, BACKUP, OLD, TMP, TEMP, ARC, ZIP, TAR, GZ, 7Z, RAR or ISO, you can use Hewlett-Packard (HP) or similar software from the "Firmware Update & System Backup" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SNAPSHOT, OLD, IMG, RESTORE, ISO, COPY, VMDK, TMP, VHD, BAK, ARCHIVE or BACKUP files to FUL, try Hewlett-Packard (HP) or another comparable tool in the "Firmware Update & System Backup" category.
The FUL Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FUL converter.
