About FPID files
An .fpid file stores artificial intelligence settings generated by the AI Wizard in FPS Creator. Game developers use these files to define how enemies and NPCs behave, move, and react to the player. The primary software used to open and edit these files is FPS Creator by The Game Creators. This software is now heavily outdated and largely replaced by newer engines. Users often need to convert or extract data from .fpid files because they are proprietary and locked to an obsolete game engine. You cannot easily read these files on modern mobile devices, macOS, or web browsers. They require the original Windows-based software to function correctly. The best target format for an .fpid file is standard TXT or XML, assuming the data is stored in plain text. Converting to a generic text format allows developers to read the AI logic parameters, though they will permanently lose the ability to import the file directly back into the FPS Creator wizard. This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert because it uses undocumented structures specific to the FPS Creator engine. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FPID file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The FPID Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FPID converter.
