About EYETVP files
A .eyetvp file is a scheduling and recording metadata document created by EyeTV, a popular live television software for macOS currently developed by Geniatech (and originally by Elgato). These files are normally hidden inside an eyetv or eyetvsched macOS package file.
The biggest challenge users face with .eyetvp files is a simple misunderstanding: people often assume this is the actual recorded video file and try to convert it directly to MP4 or MKV. In reality, an .eyetvp file is just a proprietary XML or Apple Property List (plist) document. It only contains text data about the TV show, such as the episode title, schedule times, and channel numbers. Because it is highly specialized, standard web browsers and media players cannot open it natively.
If you need to archive or extract the raw schedule data, you should convert the .eyetvp file to XML or TXT to make it universally readable. If your actual goal is to convert the recorded television show, you must look inside the original eyetv folder, locate the large MPG video file, and upload that instead.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EYETVP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
