The .el8 file is an Electa Live Classroom Session Recording created by Electa Communications. It stores recorded online classes, webinars, and live tutorials, typically capturing audio, video, chat, and whiteboard events. To open these files locally, users must install the proprietary Electa Live application. This strict requirement is a major disadvantage of the format. Because the format is highly proprietary and closed, it cannot be opened by standard media players like VLC, nor is it supported by web browsers. This creates significant barriers when trying to share lecture recordings with students or colleagues who do not use the software. The ideal solution is converting the .el8 file to standard video formats like MP4, AVI, or MKV.
