About DSRES files

DSRES files are the proprietary "Tank" resource archives used by the classic Action RPG Dungeon Siege. Developed by Gas Powered Games, these files function as virtual file systems (similar to ZIP or PAK) that contain every asset the game needs to run - from ASP 3D meshes and RAW textures to GAS logic scripts and WAV audio.

The primary problem users face is that .DSRES files are locked containers with a custom "DSigTank" binary header. You cannot simply rename them to ZIP and open them in Windows Explorer. To access the files inside for modding, translation, or texture editing, you must "explode" the archive using specific tools from the Dungeon Siege Tool Kit. Direct conversion of a .DSRES to a document format like PDF is impossible; instead, the workflow involves extracting the internal assets and converting those specific files to standard formats like PNG (for textures) or OBJ (for models).

Convert.Guru analyzes your DSRES file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted DSSAVE, DSDLL and DSMAP files.
