A .DRPM file is a Delta RPM package primarily used by Linux distributions like Fedora and openSUSE. It contains only the binary differences (the "delta") between an older version of an RPM software package and a newly updated version. System administrators rely on these files to reduce download sizes and save network bandwidth during operating system updates.

However, .DRPM files come with severe practical limitations. They are completely useless on their own. Because they only contain patch data, you must have the exact older RPM file already installed or available locally to reconstruct the new software package. Furthermore, they are essentially unusable on Windows or macOS, and they are not standard archives that you can simply extract with consumer tools like 7-Zip.
Users typically need to convert a .DRPM back into a standard, standalone RPM file so it can be installed offline or transferred to a machine without internet access.

It is a system-specific binary patch, meaning standard online converters fail because they do not have access to your local Linux file system or the original base package.
