About DRAWIT files
A .DRAWIT file is a legacy vector drawing created by DrawIt, a discontinued Mac OS X application developed by Bohemian Coding. It stores vector paths, shapes, layer groups, and text elements used primarily for illustration and icon design. The major disadvantage of the current format is its severe obsolescence and proprietary nature. Because it is tied to discontinued Mac software, files are effectively locked away. Modern vector editors like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape cannot open it natively, leaving users stranded if they upgrade their macOS or switch to Windows. To salvage the data, the best conversion targets are SVG or PDF to retain vector scalability, or PNG for rasterized viewing. However, this file format is difficult to open or convert because the internal structure is closed and undocumented. Standard online converters fail to process it. Often only the original software running on an old Apple operating system can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DRAWIT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The DRAWIT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DRAWIT converter.
