About DDA files
A .dda file typically represents a Digital Dynamic Animation asset used by Aristocrat Technologies for casino gaming machines. These proprietary files store high-efficiency vector animations and graphics for slot machine displays, designed to run on specialized embedded hardware. Users often encounter these files when analyzing dumped data from gaming cabinets or legacy development archives.
The Problem: Because this format is strictly proprietary to the gambling industry, standard media players (like VLC) and image editors (like Adobe Photoshop) cannot open them. They are often encrypted or encoded with a unique structure to prevent tampering.
The Solution: There is no public converter for Aristocrat .dda files; they require the original manufacturer's SDK.
Alternative Format: In the geospatial industry, a .dda file may also be a TNTmips Import File created by MicroImages. These contain raster or vector map data. Unlike the gaming format, these can be opened using the free version of TNTmips, where you can export them to usable formats like GeoTIFF (for maps) or Shapefile (for vector data).
Convert.Guru analyzes your DDA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted DAA, FILM, XVF and MKM files.

The DDA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DDA converter.
