The .cvxcad file is a proprietary technical drawing and illustration format created by Canvas X Pro. It stores 2D vector graphics, 3D CAD models, raster images, and layout text in a single workspace. Engineers, mechanics, and technical illustrators use this format to build assembly instructions, product manuals, and complex schematics.
The main disadvantage of the .cvxcad format is its highly restricted, closed ecosystem. The file is proprietary and requires an expensive subscription to Canvas X Pro to open natively. Web browsers, standard image viewers, and generic CAD tools cannot read it. If you share this file with a client, they will likely be unable to open it without buying the software.
You must convert this file to a standard format to make it usable by others.
