About CAPOBUNDLE files

A .capobundle file is a project package created by Capo, a music learning and analysis application developed by SuperMegaUltraGroovy. It stores metadata such as automatically detected chords, custom beat grids, loop regions, and playback settings generated from an imported audio track.

Users primarily open and edit these files using the Capo app on macOS or iOS. The main disadvantage of the .capobundle format is its proprietary, platform-restricted nature. It is completely incompatible with Windows or Linux devices. Furthermore, because it is structurally a macOS "bundle" (a directory disguised as a single file), it often causes transfer issues. If you upload or email a .capobundle via a non-Apple system without compressing it first, the file system will break it apart into a standard folder, corrupting the project.

Musicians usually need to convert this proprietary data into universal formats. Common target formats include MIDI for importing chord progressions into a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), or PDF and TXT for printable chord charts.

Because this is a closed, proprietary project package, standard online audio converters cannot process it. The format relies on the original software to properly read the internal databases and export the data. If our analysis detects standard readable text (like an internal PLIST file) or embedded audio assets inside the bundle, viewing or extraction may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CAPOBUNDLE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
