A .BXX file is primarily a proprietary digital voice recording generated by BladeX portable voice recorders. In rare cases, it can also function as a plain text parameter file used by BS Contact to configure 3D multi-user environments. The audio variant stores voice data inside a modified RIFF container, while the 3D variant stores server connection and layout settings.
The major disadvantage of the .BXX audio format is intense vendor lock-in. BladeX hardware uses this proprietary extension to force users to rely on their bundled software for playback. You cannot open these recordings natively on modern smartphones, web browsers, or standard media players.
