About BPLX files

The .BPLX file is an XML-based Bore Plan document utilized by Subsite Electronics for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). These files contain critical rod-by-rod planning data, topography, and utility crossing parameters needed by drill operators. Typically, these files are created and managed using specialized software like Subsite Field Scout or TSR (Tracker Set-up and Reporting). The primary disadvantage of the .BPLX format is its highly proprietary data schema. While it is based on standard XML, the specific tags and structures are only understood by Subsite's ecosystem. This makes sharing bore profiles with engineers, surveyors, or clients who rely on standard CAD or GIS software incredibly frustrating. Converting a .BPLX file into CSV for raw coordinate extraction or DXF for CAD visualization is often necessary to bridge this gap. However, standard online converters fail to process it because they lack the specific parsing logic for Subsite's drilling schema. This file format is difficult to open or convert fully, and often only the original software can properly render the visual 3D drill path. Because the file contains plain text XML data, our tool can inspect the internal content, allowing you to view the raw coordinates or extract supported embedded formats even if full graphical conversion is impossible.
