About BAFL files

A .BAFL file is a compilation project file created by BurnAware, a popular optical disc authoring software for Windows. It acts as a structural blueprint, storing file paths, folder hierarchies, and specific burning settings required to master CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs.

A critical disadvantage of the .BAFL format is that it does not contain the actual media files (like videos, documents, or audio). It strictly stores local hard drive pointers. If you move your original files, rename a folder, or send the .BAFL file to another computer, the project will immediately break. Furthermore, it is a closed, proprietary format locked to the BurnAware ecosystem, meaning competing software like ImgBurn or Nero cannot natively parse the file list.

Standard online converters fail to process this format because they cannot access the local files referenced by the project. If you want to convert the project into an actual playable or mountable disc image, you must use BurnAware to compile the files into an ISO. If you simply need to share the file structure, extracting the internal paths to TXT or CSV is the best target format.

Convert.Guru analyzes your BAFL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
