The .aecap file is an After Effects Text Template created by Adobe After Effects. It was designed to allow video editors working in Adobe Premiere Pro to modify text layers in a motion graphics composition without needing to open or know how to use After Effects.
These files require an active, expensive subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud. You cannot preview .aecap files natively on Windows or macOS, and they are completely unsupported by web browsers or alternative non-Adobe video editing suites like DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.
The format presents major conversion challenges. An .aecap is not a rendered video file; it is an asset package containing a project file, fonts, and XML data.
