Convert a file to ADPP
To convert other file formats to the "Device Profile Package" file type, you need software like Adobe Media Encoder or a similar tool.
About ADPP files
The .ADPP file is an Adobe Device Profile Package. It is used to store specific export presets - such as resolution, framerate, codec, and bitrate settings - designed to render video or audio for target devices like smartphones, tablets, or broadcast equipment.
These package files are native to the Adobe ecosystem and are primarily managed by Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects. Users import these profiles to guarantee their media exports meet exact hardware specifications.
The major disadvantage of the .ADPP format is its strictly proprietary nature. It requires an active, often expensive, Adobe subscription to use natively. Because it is a configuration package rather than a media file, you cannot 'play' or 'view' it in standard media players or web browsers. Standard online converters routinely fail to process it because they incorrectly expect a video or document stream rather than a settings container.
Since .ADPP files contain no media, converting them to standard video or image formats is impossible. However, the best workaround is to target XML or TXT to extract the human-readable configuration data inside.
This file format is highly proprietary and difficult to open or convert conventionally. Often, only the original Adobe software can properly import, read, or export the preset data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like the core XML strings defining the preset - viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ADPP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The ADPP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ADPP converter.
