About 5XB files
The .5xb file is a hardware configuration bundle used exclusively by the Line 6 POD HD500X guitar multi-effects processor. It functions as a complete memory snapshot, storing all user setlists, individual presets, and global device settings in a single proprietary binary format.
Users manage these files using the official Line 6 POD HD500X Edit software. A major disadvantage of this format is its strict hardware lock-in. The file does not contain audio data, making it impossible to convert directly into MP3 or WAV formats. It only contains DSP parameters - knob positions, routing paths, and amp models. Furthermore, it is completely incompatible with newer Line 6 hardware like the Helix series, requiring tedious manual recreation of tones if you upgrade your physical gear.
Because this is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters fail to process it. We can inspect the binary structure, identify the header data, and potentially extract plain-text strings like your custom patch names. However, often only the original Line 6 software connected to the physical hardware can properly read or export the data into usable, individual 5xe (preset) or 5xs (setlist) files.
Convert.Guru analyzes your 5XB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
