About 4PP files
A .4PP file is a proprietary slideshow project created by Pro-Am Software PhotoParade (formerly by Callisto). Unlike a playable video file (like MP4 or MOV), this file functions as a "recipe" - it contains the sequence of images, transition settings, captions, and music paths used to generate a slideshow, but often does not contain the full-resolution media itself.
Because .4PP files are project data rather than rendered video, they cannot be opened by standard media players like VLC or Windows Media Player, nor can they be converted directly by online tools. The file relies on the specific rendering engine of the now-legacy PhotoParade software to interpret the instructions. To convert a .4PP file, you must open it in the original PhotoParade desktop application and use the "Make Movie" or "Export" function to render it as a standard AVI or WMV file. Once exported, you can easily convert that video to MP4 for sharing on mobile devices or social media.
Convert.Guru analyzes your 4PP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The 4PP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our 4PP converter.
